Dr. Faith Carter (Andrea Brooks) took over the infirmary while Dr. Shepherd (Paul Greene) relocated to Baltimore after he accepted a fellowship at John Hopkins. The Yosts opened up a new business across the street—Yost’s Pharmacy and Soda Fountain—that took over the space where Dottie’s Dress Shop used to be. Ned (Hrothgar Matthews) was more than a little surprised when the pharmacist he hired by letter turned out to be Mei Suo (Amanda Wong), a trained and licensed chemist who had pretended to be a man to get hired. She and Faith knew each other from the Chicago hospital where they both trained. There seems to be more Mei is hiding but we’ll have to wait to find out her secrets. Henry (Martin Cummins) returned from his trip out of town only to land himself in jail (again) after fighting with Jerome Smith (Dean Paul Gibson). We’ll learn more about where and who he went to see in this week’s episode. We also learned that Jesse (Aren Buchholz) and Clara (Eva Bourne) will move to Montana to claim a homestead there. If fans are wondering if we’ll see Jesse, Clara or Carson this season, Hallmark Channel let us know that on “This season on When Calls the Heart, characters played by Eva Bourne, Aren Buchholz and Paul Greene will continue their journeys outside of Hope Valley. Although they won’t be seen on-screen, viewers will still be able to keep up with the lives of these characters.” In this week’s episode, “Out Like a Lamb,” the mayoral race finally comes to a conclusion as the town elects their new mayor. Will it be Lee Coulter, Bill Avery, or Mike Hickam? Will Hickam ever find out who defaced his campaign posters? We think we have a clue… Nathan (Kevin McGarry) is recovering from his injuries from the hit-and-run accident and missing his niece, Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller). Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) heads over to the stables to look in on Nathan’s horse, Newton, but the horse is skittish from the accident and won’t let anyone near him. Later on, Elizabeth is surprised to find someone else is able to connect with Newton and tend to the horse’s wounds. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Lucas (Chris McNally) look for the little moments in their relationship they can cherish. Cooper (Elias Leacock) is acting out at school and his parents, Minnie (Natasha Burnett) and Joseph (Viv Leacock) are stumped as to why.
