But during his visit to The Kelly Clarkson Show, he did a little more than just chat about the film, performing one of the late Loretta Lynn’s songs as a fantastic duet with host Kelly Clarkson. Most people either know Johnson for his professional wrestling career or acting career, but the 50-year-old actually has quite the singing voice, which he showed off when he played Maui in the 2016 hit Disney film, Moana. This time, he teamed up with Clarkson to perform the song “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’” as a tribute to Lynn, who passed away earlier this month. The two proved to have great chemistry on stage, having a little fun together as they sang. It’s not the first time Johnson’s sung a Lynn song on screen, as his character in the 2005 film Be Cool performs the song “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man).” Many people loved the cover, commenting on The Kelly Clarkson Show’s tweet of the video. One wrote, “Y’all’s are sneaky. Didn’t expect this…damn good. Such a cute performance too when they play off each other & kelly pushed his face away…so adorable 😍.” Another wrote, “The duet I never knew I needed! Didn’t know The Rock could sing like that! Loved this 🤠♥️.” The duet performance was a surprise for many, as the rest of Johnson’s visit to the show was about his upcoming movie. Joined by co-stars Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, and Noah Centineo, Johnson talked to Clarkson about the new superhero movie in which he plays the title character, a powerful antihero who must team up with the Justice Society of America to stop an even more powerful threat. The new movie comes out in theaters on Oct. 21. More News:
