Jolie, 46, brought five of her and Pitt’s children to the Los Angeles red carpet premiere of Eternalson Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, and they all coordinated their neutral-colored outfits. Maddox, 20, rocked head to toe black, and Knox, 13, sported a deep green suit. Vivienne, 13, wore a cream-colored A-line mid-length dress with a square neckline, a matching cardigan with bell half-sleeves, and matching shoes. Shiloh, 15, wore a tan hi-low dress with spaghetti straps and white flats. It was 16-year-old Zahara who stole the show, glittering in Jolie’s silver Elie Saab gown that the actress wore to the 2014 Academy Awards. As for the Oscar winner herself, who stars as warrior Thena in the Marvel blockbuster, Jolie wore a strapless, draped brown gown and complemented the look with gold earrings, bracelets, and cat-eye liner, further accentuating her famous pout with a chin cuff on the center of her lower lip. Son Pax, 19, wasn’t present. Jolie told Entertainment Tonightthat the children’s outfits were all from her own closet or vintage. “My kids are all mixed with vintage, and in my old Oscars dress,” she said. “We did all vintage and upcycled my old stuff.” That said, they don’t necessarily love all of their mom’s outfits, and she admitted they may not be too comfortable with her head-to-toe gold spandex for the superhero flick. “Would you wanna see your mother wearing that?” she joked. “I don’t know, they haven’t seen the movie, but your mom walks in with a gold spandex outfit and gold hair, they’re like, ‘What do you do for a living? What are you? Get back in your robe!’” Still, she thinks they’ll love the movie for the same reason she does: The Maleficentstar embraced the family vibe of Eternals that director Chloé Zhaocreated, both on the set and within the characters of the MCU film itself. She explained, “It was certainly something that when Chloé says, ‘I want it to be a love letter to earth, I want it to be this kind of a family for these reasons,’ she’s somebody you can trust isn’t saying that ‘cause it sounds right as a director, you know that she will live and breathe it and she will deliver on i. And then, when they told me what the intention was, what the family was, I felt it was a long time coming.” Jolie previously revealed that while fashion is fun, she wants her daughters to focus more on their internal growth than their external style. “I often tell my daughters that the most important thing they can do is to develop their minds,” she wrote in an essay for Elle in 2019. “You can always put on a pretty dress, but it doesn’t matter what you wear on the outside if your mind isn’t strong. There is nothing more attractive—you might even say enchanting—than a woman with an independent will and her own opinions.” Next, find out what Marvel releases have gotten moved—again!—and when you can expect to see every hotly-anticipated MCU film.
