During an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show to promote the upcoming fourth season of The Servant, the Harry Potter alum opened up about his family, including his toddler daughter, Wednesday. Fallon pointed out that Grint landed on a name that’s skyrocketing in popularity thanks to Wednesday, the Tim Burton created Netflix drama starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. Grint kept his sense of humor about the situation, stating, “Glad we kind of got in there,” adding, “There’s gonna be a boom, a Wednesday boom.” However, he didn’t regret the choice, noting, “It’s a good name, I stand by it.” He then elaborated about his nearly three-year old, whom he shares with girlfriend Georgia Groome. Grint, who hails from the UK but spends a significant amount of time in the U.S. as he films the series in Philadelphia, also revealed that Wednesday is “struggling a little bit with kind of adjusting to UK life.” He continued: “She’s spent most of her time in America, so she’s missing some kind of cultural things,” including Target, which does not have a presence in the U.K. The actor noted the tot is “obsessed” with the retail giant, adding, “She’d choose that over going to the park; the zoo." “She loves going to different Targets and seeing how the layout is slightly different,” he elaborated. “And sometimes she doesn’t buy anything, she just wants to kind of browse,” he said, explaining that while the “toy aisle” is “definitely a draw,” Wednesday is more into “lip balm to be fair.” Wednesday’s love for Target runs so deep, the 34-year-old dad even built her a mini-homemade play store. As Fallon held up a picture of the little kiosk, the actor joked, “I think I’ve definitely captured the essence.” Fallon then questioned if little Wednesday just runs around talking to everyone in the store, and Grint confirmed that she’s quite “chatty.” “Rupert’s daughter is all of us, really. Catch me browsing, appreciating the layout, and hanging out in the lip balm aisle. 😅” one fan commented under the Instagram clip of the interview. Another quipped: “Imagine strolling through target and a small child starts chatting you up and you look up to find her dad is Ron Weasley.” Grin also noted that while he’s taken Wednesday to the equivalent of Target in the U.K. it simply doesn’t have the same affect on her. Maybe Target will consider Fallon’s request to go “global” so that Wednesday can continue her browsing across the pond.
