Resuming after a three-year hiatus, MasterChef Junior will see the return of host/judge/mentor Gordon Ramsay and judge Aarón Sánchez, and will be increasing its glamour quotient with the addition of wellness advocate and author Daphne Oz, who Gordon said may look sweet, but is tough as nails. “If there is one thing I know, it’s kids and food,” the mother of four told the 16 chef-testants for the season. Season 8 will find the hopefuls whipping up a meal for diners at a historical renaissance fair; participating in a WWE-themed episode with Michael Gregory Mizanin, aka, The Miz, who jokes to just call him Chef BoyarMiz; competing to see how they size up to monster trucks at a motocross track; and welcoming Gordon’s daughter, Tilly Ramsay, into the kitchen for a donut challenge—and it all starts on night one with a mystery ingredients challenge. “This year on MasterChef Junior, one of the craziest mistakes I’ve witnessed was serving raw chicken to a group of ladies, but the most important thing is at the end of that experience, they leave as better individuals,” Gordon said. MasterChef Junior season 8 premieres at 8 p.m. ET/PT on March 17 on FOX. Next, Cute Kids in the Kitchen! Everything We Know So Far About MasterChef Junior Season 8
