Renner said like Hawkeye took Kate Bishop under his wing, he did the same with Steinfeld during filming the superhero saga. “That was always my role,” he explained to Entertainment Weekly. “Outside of acting in the thing, I was protecting her and giving her the CliffsNotes on how it goes with this kind of filmmaking: Green screen, superhero life, all that stuff. I just wanted to protect her, because there’s a lot of physical stuff. Yes! The Hawkeye trailer shows Clint Barton and Kate Bishop taking on New York City, set to the tune of Andy Williams’ classic Christmas song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” We even catch a glimpse of the iconic Lucky the Pizza Dog! Val has had some sinister dealings in the past, including with U.S. Agent (John Walker, played by Wyatt Russell) in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Val has been described as operating in a “moral gray area,” so it remains to be seen whether or not Belova will be an ally to the Avengers or a foil to the world’s greatest heroes depending on where her loyalties lie.
