Though it’s not his usual look, everyone really seemed to dig it as the Tonight Show host began trending on Twitter almost immediately. His new look, and the fact that the camera kept spotlighting Fallon, caused some confusion among social media. One fan questioned, “Why do they keep panning to Jimmy Fallon,” while another joined in, writing, “Why do they keep zooming in on jimmy fallon #VMAs” Others, however, found his attire and newfound facial hair quite attractive. One fan tweeted, “JIMMY FALLON IS FINE !!! END OF DISCUSSION.” Another user was left completely flabbergasted, writing, “Why Jimmy Fallon at the vmas looking fine af hold up.” Many other fans took to Twitter to comment on the “thirst” surrounding Fallon’s appearance at the award show. Some fans were confused by all the attention Fallon was suddenly receiving, noting that he has always been “sexy.” And yet a third couldn’t help but feel “unnerved” at Fallon sans his usual late-night hosting suit. The singer couldn’t make it as he was performing at Madison Square Garden for his “Love On Tour” show, but fans were seemingly not disappointed at all considering Fallon scored a trending spot on Twitter as he accepted the award on Styles’ behalf.
