Curtis reposted People’s Instagram post about the upcoming issue in which they talk to Perry about his past struggles, with the front page reading, “I’m Ready to Tell My Story.” Adding her own caption, the actress wrote, “I am so happy that Matthew is sharing his secret so that others can realize the power of addiction and that one can find help.”  Curtis shared that she’s coming up on 24 years sober after a Vicodin addiction. It was a journalist sharing their own story that helped her realize she wasn’t alone, which became her “stepping stone to seek the help I needed.”  She then highlighted the dangers of the synthetic opioid fentanyl, which is extremely addictive and currently the cause of many deaths around the world. She finished off her message by saying, “Whoever reads this, who is struggling, please know you are not alone and there are many other people who share your disease and have found recovery.” In Perry’s new memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry gets extremely honest about both the great highs of his life and the terrible lows. One of the major life events Perry details in his book is when his colon burst from his opioid use, leaving him in a coma for two weeks that he wasn’t expected to survive.  He told People in the new interview, “I had to wait until I was pretty safely sober — and away from the active disease of alcoholism and addiction — to write it all down. And the main thing was, I was pretty certain that it would help people.” Perry’s book Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing comes out on Nov. 1. More News:
