What is Heart of the Matter about?
Andie Hodges (Aimee Teegarden) is an accomplished, young cardiologist who has great passion for the patients she treats and prides herself on giving them the best of care. But the accidental death of Henry (Chandler Massey), a young patient of Andie’s with an intellectual disability, leaves her shaken and doubting her abilities as a doctor. As she grapples with this loss, a confrontation with Henry’s angry mother Gladys (Gail O’Grady) adds to her despair and leads her to further question her professional future. With a malpractice lawsuit looming and potential sanctions from the medical review board, Andie begins to rethink her loving relationship with Patrick (Andrew Zachar), who has been understanding and supportive of her. But as Andie and Gladys learn to overcome their sorrow through forgiveness, they learn that acceptance leads to hope.
Who stars in Heart of the Matter?
Aimee Teegarden (Andie Hodges)
Aimee Teegarden has appeared in several Hallmark films including My Christmas Family Tree, A New Year’s Resolution and Once Upon a Christmas Miracle opposite Brett Dalton. Teegarden recently signed a multi-picture deal with Hallmark Channel ensuring she’ll be around for a few more Christmas movies and mystery films to come.
Andrew Zachar (Patrick)
Andrew Zachar previously appeared on Hallmark Channel’s Eight Gifts of Hanukkah. He has also had guest spots on Virgin River, Supernatural, and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Gail O’Grady (Gladys)
Fans know O’Grady best from her years on NYPD Blue. She has appeared in several Hallmark Channel movies including Love on Ice, The Right Girl, and All I Want for Christmas.
