One of the original athleisure brands, Lululemon has been rolling out chic and functional activewear since 1998. Customers rave about their leggings, tank tops, yoga mats and more, so it only makes sense that they would take on the footwear world next. The brand’s newly-launched “Blissfeel” sneaker is available in seven colors, ranging from neutrals to neons. A “woman-first” running shoe, Lululemon crafted this shoe with women in mind first—whereas most brands start with a men’s running shoe and then move on to women’s. Based on data Lululemon collected on the feet of more than one million women, this carefully-designed shoe—which is selling out at lightening speed—includes a supportive upper, which moves like an extension of your foot. It also uses tuned foam cushioning, which softens landings and helps you continue to spring forward as you run. “We intentionally started with women first because we saw an opportunity to solve for the fact that, more often than not, performance shoes are designed for men and then adapted for women,” Sun Choe, lululemon’s Chief Product Officer, said in a press release. “That didn’t sit well with us. Innovating for women is in lululemon’s DNA—now we’re bringing that same expertise to footwear, and women were part of this journey every step of the way.” So far, customers are raving about Lulu’s Blissfeels. “I ran 8 miles in these shoes and there were perfect,” one reviewer wrote. “I’ve had trouble finding running shoes for years due to a high arch. A lot of shoes do not have the arch support which makes my toes go numb while running. I had no issue with these and they felt amazing!” Another reviewer wrote: “As a sub elite runner and run coach, I have to admit I was skeptical about Lulu’s entrance into the running shoe but after several runs in these shoes I am sold on them. A great balance between cushion and responsive I’ll be reaching for them as my everyday easy and long run shoes!” The brand does note that if you have wider feet, you should consider going up half a size. And if you don’t like the Blissfeels, you can return them for a full refund as long as you do so before the 30-day mark. With beautiful weather right around the corner, why not give these springy new shoes a try? They may just take your cherry blossom-filled outdoor runs to the next level.
