Duchess Kate sat at the piano below the vaulted ceiling of the cathedral where she andPrince William exchanged their wedding vows a decade ago in order to accompany singer Tom Walker. A source told Town & Country, “Music was very important to the duchess during the lockdowns and playing the piano brought great comfort to her. “She also recognises the powerful way in which music brings people together—especially during difficult times. For these reasons, she was keen to be part of Tom’s performance in this way.” Kate and William were both in attendance at Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, with Kate wearing a red version of the black dress she wore to Prince Philip’s funeral in April. The day before the concert was taped, Kate turned up to the abbey in a £1350 ($1807) red cardigan by Miu Miu to help decorate Christmas trees that were donated by Queen Elizabeth II. It’s not known where Kate and William are spending Christmas with their three kids. They were supposed to join the queen for the royals’ annual Christmas vacation at Sandringham, but due to COVID precautions the monarch has chosen to remain at Windsor Castle for the second year in a row.
