The R&B star outlined a diamond-studded wish list in a brand new Christmas version of her hit song “Better Thangs,” which she debuted in a playful social media post on Thursday, Dec. 8. In a steamy video to go along with the new holiday anthem, the 37-year-old singer appeared in a red and white Santa-inspired body suit with a plunging neckline and matching fur brim hat. She also had on a pair of baggy jeans that sat right below her waistline, as well as a set of fuzzy festive gloves. While dancing around her house that appears to be decked out in Christmas decorations, Ciara mouthed the words to her song, which she substituted for lyrics better suited for the holidays. In the new version, the hitmaker sings, “I been waiting up all night/Looking at the Christmas lights/Happy that it’s Christmas time/Hope I get what I like.” The song’s original chorus, which includes the lines, “Better things, better things, all new everything,” stayed the same for the holiday version, as they already fit the theme perfectly. “Hey Santa Zaddy 🥰🌲😎💃🏽🎅🏽” she cheekily captioned the Instagram clip. She also shared the video for her TikTok followers to see, writing, “I told you mine, now you tell me yours 🎅🏽” in the caption. “I want this 😫 to be a full song,” one fan commented, while tons more joined in to ask the songwriter to drop an official version of the holiday tune to streaming platforms. “Christmas version of better thangs. Spotify please CiCi,” someone wrote. Until the “1, 2 Step” songstress officially releases the track, it looks like her followers will be watching the social media video over and over in the meantime.
