While previously a key and exclusive component of the Discovery+ platform, the Gaines’ Magnolia Network will now stream their content on HBO Max as well, Variety reported on Aug. 4, 2022. HBO Max will feature a select “curated” assortment of Magnolia content, including Fixer Upper: The Castle. “From the beginning, our aim for Magnolia Network has been to tell good stories. Stories that bring us together, that inspire and encourage us all to try something new. Stories that are told in ways that feel authentic,” Chip and Joanna previously said about taking on this new chapter in their personal and professional lives. “And while our plan has evolved along the way, our original vision for this network has remained the same: to create a space where people leave feeling like it was time well spent. We’re so excited to finally share these incredible stories with you all—and we’re just getting started!” They added, “We’ve been amazed by the stories and storytellers we’ve found, people whose lives are living proof that our world is full of beauty, hope, courage, and curiosity. We can’t wait to see these stories brought to life on cable this January, and we’re hopeful about the impact it might have—to help reclaim the best of what television can be.” Ahead of the network’s digital launch, Joanna told Parade.com that “there’s just something that’s so beautiful about all the shows and all the talent, showing authentically what they’re doing.” “There’s some hope. There’s inspiration,” she added. “It’s that moment in time that I feel like we’re ready to put it out there. The message of hope and beauty and inspiration, we just hope people resonate with it and leave feeling like it was time well spent and it was inspiring.” Here is everything you need to know about Chip and Joanna’s Magnolia Network and app!
When did the Magnolia Network launch?
The network made its digital debut on discovery+ in July 2021. The long-awaited linear cable channel launched on Jan. 5, 2022, with the cable premiere of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home.
What is the Magnolia Network channel and how can you watch it?
Discovery, Inc.’s existing DIY Network, which is available in 50 million homes across the U.S., was rebranded to become Chip and Joanna’s Magnolia Network. Individuals who had an active DIY Network subscription gained access to Magnolia Network on Jan. 5, 2022.
What shows are on the Magnolia Network?
Magnolia Network shows center around community, home, garden, food, wellness, entrepreneurialism and design. The network is also home to the complete library of Chip and Joanna’s beloved Fixer Upper series, which first premiered on HGTV in 2013. Here are some original series that can be found on the Magnolia Network:
Fixer Upper: Welcome Home
Chip and Joanna Gaines revealed that they’ll reboot the beloved home renovation series on their Magnolia Network. The couple announced the news in a typically adorable video clip in which Chip drives Joanna to a surprise location. “What did you do, Chip?” she asks. “I signed us up for another season of Fixer Upper,” he replied with a grin. “I answered the office phone like you told me never to do.” “Well, can I tell you a little secret?” Joanna asked. “I kinda missed it.” “The day we wrapped our final episode of Fixer Upper, we really believed it was a chapter closed. We knew we needed a break and a moment to catch our breath. But we also knew we weren’t done dreaming about ways to make old things new again,” Chip and Joanna said in a statement. “These past few years, we’ve continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we’re passionate about, but I don’t think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts. We’ve missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we’re excited to do that again very soon!”
Mind for Design
Starring self-taught interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn, this series follows Flynn while showcasing his “eclectic yet distinctive style and keen eye for design.” “Along with his team of skilled designers, Flynn creates the most breathtaking spaces and tackles decorating projects on any budget or within any scope,” Magnolia Network said in a statement, “all with a dash of humor.”
Self-Employed
On Self-Employed, Fort Worth, Texas-based entrepreneur Jonathan Morris travels through America meeting and sharing stories of small business owners.
The Johnnyswim Show
The six-episode series will follow Abner Ramirez and his wife Amanda Sudano Ramirez of the folk duo Johnnyswim as they tour North America with their kids, Joaquin and Luna. Every week, the couple will explore the culture, stories and food of their current tour stop, including Dallas, Jacksonville, New York, Chattanooga, Charleston, Los Angeles and Waco, Texas. “Amanda and Abner are magnetic,” Chip and Joanna Gaines said in a release. “Ever since we met them a little over five years ago, we’ve been drawn to the way they navigate family, community, and life on the road. They’re not just musicians, they’re storytellers and together, they are a true picture of the relentless pursuit of following a dream and making it a reality; but their dream doesn’t stop with them—it’s extended to their family and fans and everyone they meet.”
Magnolia Table With Joanna Gaines
Get ready to take notes because Gaines shares her favorite recipes in her cooking show. “Over the years, I’ve come to realize the impact that food has on our lives. It bolsters our traditions and it maintains our fondest memories and our notion of home and family,” she said in a previous statement. “With just one bite, food can bring you back to a specific moment in time. Season one of my cooking show is filled with tried and true, family favorites that do just that.” Season 4 premiered Oct. 29.
Growing Floret
Erin Benzakein, the founder Floret Flower Farm, and her team have one year to turn more than 20 acres of chemically damaged and over-farmed land into an extension of their successful organic flower farm. “One of the biggest motivators for building this network was a desire to tell the stories of brave people who are chasing big dreams. Ever since discovering the incredible team behind Growing Floret, I have been endlessly inspired by the grit, hard work and beauty that they’re putting into the world,” Joanna said of the show in a press release. “We are so excited to tell more of their story as they take the courageous steps to expand their flower farm and grow their business.”
Family Dinner
Andrew Zimmern serves as the host visiting families across America, exploring “how the cultural, regional, and historical facets of who we are inform what and how we eat, and all the ways food brings people together.” He previously told Parade.com, “To hear from families themselves what their stories are, what the food is, what their traditions and their own cultures and their own family histories are their own geographical locations—but most importantly, why they feel the need to gather—is something that is entertaining and funny and emotional, and we all are able to learn a little something,” adding, “I think it’s one of the best TV shows I’ve ever made.” Season 2 premiered Dec. 10, 2021.
Restoration Road with Clint Harp
Clint Harp is a woodworker traveling the country in search of some of the oldest and most beautiful structures still around today (and Fixer Upper fans will recognize him from the original show!). Harp will be looking into how they were built, restored and given new life. Season 2 premiered Dec. 31, 2021.

What is the MAGNOLIA app?
In 2021, Chip and Joanna launched their MAGNOLIA app, which is described as “a first-of-its-kind, immersive digital brand product providing a home for all things Magnolia, including exclusive workshops, easy-to-use shopping experience and more.” “From the beginning, our aim for Magnolia Network has been to tell good stories. Stories that bring us together, that inspire and encourage us all to try something new. Stories that are told in ways that feel authentic,” Chip and Joanna said in a statement. “Our plan has evolved along the way, but our original vision for this network has remained the same. And it is our ongoing desire to create a space, whether in a streaming environment, or on linear television, where people who watch a show on our network leave feeling like it was time well spent. To that end, prior to next year’s linear launch, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with discovery+ as we launch MAGNOLIA, a fully immersive digital brand experience.”
When are new episodes available to stream on the Magnolia Network?
The network releases new episodes and series to stream every Friday on discovery+. Select Magnolia Network content will also be available to stream on HBO Max, including Fixer Upper: The Castle and more.
What else does Magnolia Network offer?
The network debuted Magnolia Workshops as part of its digital launch in 2021. Magnolia Workshops, which are accessible to discovery+ subscribers through the MAGNOLIA app, are video courses led by industry experts, including Floret founder Erin Benzakein, four-time James Beard Award nominee Chef Katie Button, interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn, pastry chef Zoë François, Magnolia designer and stylist Hilary Walker and more. “As we’ve been building this network of shows, what we’ve experienced along the way is just how powerful these stories and storytellers are,” Chip and Joanna said in a press release announcing Magnolia Workshops. “They shake us out of our daily routines and encourage us to see old things in new ways, drawing us toward interests and curiosities we maybe haven’t considered before. And we loved the idea of creating a natural next step—a place where people could take that interest or curiosity and learn how to bring it to life. For us, that’s what these workshops are all about—an opportunity to learn from one another and nudge us toward the things that inspire us.” Next, find out exactly why Chip and Joanna Gaines are the definition of #CoupleGoals!
