All of them managed to survive, and we’re hoping it’s the same when we return for season 11 with the resolution of the season 10 finale cliffhanger, which found Severide and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) ensconced in a remote cabin on their honeymoon when an ominous truck pulls up outside. It’s most likely the drug dealers who threatened Severide’s life after he turned over their cache of drugs and agreed to testify. It’s hard to imagine that the two won’t survive somehow, but we will have to wait to see how the writers manage that one when the hit NBC series returns this fall. Here is everything we know so far about Chicago Fire season 11:

Are any characters leaving Chicago Fire in season 11?

The majority of the departures took place in season 10, specifically the loss of Jesse Spencer, who exited the show in October, when his character Captain Matthew Casey made the move to Oregon to foster his late friend Andy Darden’s two boys while their mother is in jail. Andy died in the series premiere in a fire that still haunts Casey to this day. But in the season finale, we also saw the end of the threat posed by Emma Jacobs (Caitlin Carver), who deserted her post during a call, giving Chief Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas) grounds not only for her transfer out of Firehouse 51, but her permanent dismissal.

What happened at the end of Chicago Fire season 10?

The major event in the season 10 finale was the wedding of Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd. It almost didn’t take place when at the last minute the venue turned the wedding party away. Luckily, best man Matt Casey, who had returned from Portland for the occasion, came up with an alternate solution and found a ship captain to marry the couple on his boat. But it also may have marked the beginning of the end for Casey and Brett, who have been surviving a long-distance romance. As they danced at the wedding, Brett told Casey that he is where he is supposed to be in Portland, fostering the two boys, and fighting wildfires, but her life is still in Chicago. But the biggest cliffhanger came when Severide and Stella were on their honeymoon at an isolated cabin and an ominous looking truck pulled up. Could it be the drug dealers who previously threatened Severide’s life? Also, we saw the resolution of the threat posed by Emma Jacobs (Caitlin Carver), who wanted Chief Evan Hawkins to move Violet to a different firehouse and give her the job permanently at Firehouse 51.

Are there any spoilers for season 11?

Nothing specific so far, but they do say marriage changes things, so it will be interesting to see how tying the knot affects Severide and Kidd if they escape with their lives from what looked like a life-or-death situation in the season 10 finale. Also, will Brett be moving on with her life? It is too soon for another man since she and Casey haven’t officially broken up yet, but it may be a rocky path. Also, Violet wasn’t happy with the way Evan handled the blackmail threat from Emma, so that might be the end of their relationship. Could she and Gallo get back together? He definitely still has feelings for her.

How many seasons of Chicago Fire are there?

Chicago Fire premiered Oct. 10, 2012. There have been 10 seasons of the NBC hit series. The upcoming season will make 11.

How many more seasons of Chicago Fire will there be?

NBC gave a three-year pickup to Chicago Fire back in February 2020, so that will take it through season 11. “I’m gratified and excited that Universal will remain our home for five more years,” creator/executive producer Dick Wolf said at that time. “This new term deal complements our recently concluded agreement to make Peacock one of the primary destinations for both the Law and Order and Chicago brands, as well as our extraordinary three-year NBC broadcast pickups on all four current series.”
