The former Dancing With the Stars pro took to Instagram earlier in the week to share a glimpse at her sparkling Christmas tree embellished with loads of festive ornaments. But the 38-year-old dancer wasn’t alone for the occasion, as she had one of her French bulldogs, Ysabella, by her side to help get the holiday spirit flowing. Burke’s second Frenchie, Bonnie, apparently couldn’t be bothered as she was nowhere to be found. While Burke revealed that she might not have done all the decorating herself, writing, “I wish I could take credit for this 😆🎄” in the caption, her pooch Ysabella appeared to be very mesmerized by the glimmering tree in one of the photos that show her being lifted by her mom to get a closer look. And the Christmas festivities didn’t stop there, as Ysabella was also featured in more shots in the post, including a photo of her sporting a holiday dress that reads “Santa baby” on the back and has a sparkly red tutu skirt. Burke later shared more doggie Instagram content on Friday, Dec. 2, where she posted videos of her pooches playing with each other while she sat on the floor next to them, per Us Weekly. The adorable canine content comes in the wake of Burke’s pet custody battle with ex-husband Matthew Lawrence, who gifted her Ysabella following their wedding in 2019. “It’s just really sad, you know,” Burke previously said of her and Lawrence’s court battle over the Frenchie. “It just sucks because, for me, it’s just cruel.” “I hope that this soon, you know, dies down, and he calls it off because you’re taking, like, my daughter away from me,” she said in the Entertainment Tonight from October. Burke has also credited Ysabella for being her support system through the difficult divorce, which the former pair announced in February. “Going through a public divorce, there have been days where I wanted to just stay in bed and hide, and the idea of numbing my emotions with a vodka soda can sound pretty appealing,” the podcast host, who has been open about her alcohol addiction, wrote in an essay for Us Weekly in the fall. “But Ysabella has tons of energy and gets me outside to go for walks multiple times a day, she loves me to play with her and I honestly can’t imagine life without her by my side 24/7.” Burke and Lawrence are expected to go to trial for custody of the pup sometime in January 2023.
