“It’s a wild, wild ride and I think we’re back with an even bigger escape to 19th century Regency London this time around," showrunner and creator Chris Van Dusen said at a press conference ahead of the premiere. As with the first season, there are balls, romance, and, of course, steamy scenes. “I think we managed to take everything people fell in love with about this first season [and] put it into Season 2,” Van Dusen shared. With Daphne Bridgerton’s love story was told in the first season, it’s time for another member of the Bridgerton family to step into the spotlight in Season 2. “This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season," Lady Whistledown previously shared. “I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of his romantic activities.” While you can count on Lady Whistledown to report on the latest gossip from the ton, we, on the other hand, have you covered on everything you need to know about Season 2 of Bridgerton, including the official trailer, cast additions, release date and more!

Sixteen days before the premiere of Season 2, Netflix debuted the official trailer… and dear readers, it was well worth the wait. The Bridgertons are back, and this time around it is the viscount (a.k.a. For all of you.” https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs9r1UbmFAI Back in September 2021, Netflix shared a first look at Season 2 during its “TUDUM: A Netflix Global Fan Event” and also released photos featuring Daphne (a.k.a the Duchess of Hastings), Anthony Bridgerton, and new character Kate Sharma—check them out in the gallery above!

Lady Whistledown previously revealed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton “intends to dominate the social season” in Season 2. The second book in the Bridgerton book series, titled The Viscount Who Loved Me, shifts the focus from Daphne and Simon to the Duchess’ older brother Anthony Bridgerton, who became the Viscount after his father’s untimely death. According to the official synopsis, Season 2 follows the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Lord Anthony Bridgerton, “as he sets out to find a suitable wife. Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India. When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions — a true love match is not high on his priority list — and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides. Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.” Bailey previously teased that the “brilliant” forthcoming season will introduce new faces and feature “loads” of Easter eggs for all of the characters. “I feel like the campy, plush spectacle of the Bridgerton world is only going to get more pronounced in the best way possible. It’s mad, and it’s brilliant. There are also going to be a lot of brilliant characters introduced in this series – and it’s not just Anthony that we’re going to delve into,” he told British Vogue. “The robust universe that’s been set up by Shonda and Chris will just expand, and keep pushing boundaries in a way that’s quietly subversive. There’s just going to be more of what everyone loves, I think. There’s loads of little Easter Eggs for all of the characters. I’ll say this: watch out for the bees.”
