The picture was taken on the set of CBeebies Bedtime Story, with Duchess Kate set to appear in a special episode on Sunday as part of Children’s Mental Health Week in the UK. Kate will be reading the children’s classic The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson. The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week this year is ‘Growing Together.’ In Tomlinson’s book, a baby owl is helped by others to overcome his fear of the dark. The Director of BBC Children’s and Education Patricia Hidalgo said: “I couldn’t be more proud to have The Duchess read a CBeebies Bedtime Story as we mark the 20th anniversary of our CBeebies and CBBC channels. “It’s such a special and relevant tale and perfectly represents this years’ Children’s Mental Health Week theme. I can’t wait to see her deliver her own take on such a classic story and I’m sure our audience can’t either.” Kate’s gorgeous sweater, which features gold buttons details along the cuffs and shoulders, is by Holland Cooper. It’s quite similar to another Fair Isle sweater owned by the duchess, who wore it on the eve of her and Prince William’s 10-year wedding anniversary last year when they visited a farm and took a lamb for a walk. Fair Isle is a traditional knitting technique that originated in Scotland’s Shetland Islands. Today Kate made a surprise visit to a parental support group, for which she paired a black top with belted black jeans and a grey blazer. She is accessorized with pearl earrings and her gold and lapis lazuli pendant by Astley Clarke. The necklace is clearly one of her favorites—she’s worn it six times since it made its public debut in January 2021. Fans have speculated that it was a 39th birthday present to the duchess.
