De Armas, who appeared in the most recent Bond film, No Time to Die, revealed her thoughts on the future of the franchise and what she would like to see instead in a new interview with The Sun.  The star said that she believes “there’s no need for a female Bond.” As she explained in the interview, she thinks that “there shouldn’t be any need to steal someone else’s character, you know, to take over. This is a novel, and it leads into this James Bond world and this fantasy of that universe where he’s at.” Instead, de Armas would rather have the female characters featured in Bond films to become more layered and well-developed, with richer and more complex storylines. “What I would like is that the female roles in the Bond films, even though Bond will continue to be a man, are brought to life in a different way. That they’re given a more substantial part and recognition. That’s what I think is more interesting than flipping things,” she said.  The actress played the supporting character Paloma in No Time to Die alongside Daniel Craig’s James Bond, a.k.a. 007.  After her role in No Time to Die, many called for a spinoff film centered around Paloma or one of the other female characters in the film, as Newsweek also debated.  With No Time to Die and now The Gray Man, de Armas’ acting and new statements present a compelling argument for the development of more original, multifaceted female action stars, rather than replacing old ones.  Next, From Ben Affleck to a Tech Bro, Inside Ana de Armas’ Love Life In and Away From the Spotlight
